Originally a tobacco farm on the edge of Eden, Gold Star Alpacas is indeed a small piece of ‘Eden’ for its owners. Rick and Jerra Anderson operate a friendly small farm enjoying their alpaca herd with a retail store of alpaca fashion-wear.
Eden, like many rural villages formerly was a sustainable village focusing on the surrounding agricultural area. Sporting a milk business, a grist mill, sawmill, two hotels, butcher, barber, garage and post office they also boasted of a grocery truck service! The railroad had been responsible for the population boom.
The railroad is visible beside the edge of the Anderson’s farm and is footprint of former glory days.
The quilt block, “Sun Spin” represents the fibre trade of the alpacas and is depicted in their many colours of their fleece.
Gold Star Alpacas represents a farm business, capable of establishing a retirement income and manageable alpaca-breeding enterprise. Our objective is the breeding of high quality alpacas and promotion of the Canadian Alpaca Industry, while employing honesty and integrity—we apply the Golden Rule.
